About Christina SmithTherapist

Christina Smith is a registered counselling therapist candidate on the south shore of Nova Scotia, serving clients in person and online throughout Nova Scotia and other Maritime Provinces. Her practice helps adults of all genders and ages navigate the mental health challenges they face in their lives, including anxiety and depression, trauma, compulsive behaviors, relationship issues, or other matters. Christina also specializes in helping new and expectant parents deal with pregnancy-related and post-partum depression and anxiety.

Christina holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She maintains her credential as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, where she owned her own counseling practice providing individual therapy services for adults and adolescents. She is currently a Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate in Canada.

Christina Smith brings a wealth of experience to her Nova Scotia counselling therapy practice, including providing mental health services in Florida for more than ten years. Christina has treated individuals, couples and families in private practice in Fort Lauderdale from 2017 to 2024, when she relocated to Canada. In addition to her private practice, Christina provided care in a variety of outside settings in Florida, including:

  • Inpatient, psychiatric care for treatment of mental disorders such as Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.
  • Rehabilitation centers for substance abuse
  • Individual and Group therapy for populations with chronic mental illness and/or substance abuse issues
  • Individualized treatment for children with developmental disorders
  • Individual and group therapy for elderly and medically compromised populations
  • Individual and group therapy for men, women and children who are victims of domestic violence

Originally born in Nova Scotia and raised in South Florida, Christina later returned to Canada with her family to embrace the peaceful lifestyle of the province she loves. In her downtime, she enjoys creating lasting memories with her husband and their two energetic young boys, making the most of family life in the beautiful surroundings of Nova Scotia. Whether it’s exploring the local community or simply enjoying time together at home, Christina finds joy in the balance between her personal and professional life.
